My name is Joey. Born and raised in the south of the Netherlands, 36 years ago, as the eldest of triplets. After graduating in 2013, I stumbled into online marketing through a minor in E-business. Two years later, I knew: this wasn’t it. I missed creativity. I wanted to create something that moves people, with impact and depth. I was fascinated by video creation, but was I really going to start a four-year degree all over again? Nope.

I made a radical decision: I quit my job, gave up my apartment, and left for Asia. For one year and three months, I traveled as a digital nomad, learning about digital content creation in a practical and self-taught way every single day, all while being surrounded by stunning Asian nature.

I was fascinated by video creation, but was I really going to start a four-year degree all over again? Nope.

I decided to take a more drastic route. I quit my job and gave up my apartment to travel indefinitely, allowing myself to fully focus on developing skills in digital content creation and building a portfolio. I had a strong sense that this was the path I was meant to follow.

For one year and three months, I traveled through Asia as a digital nomad, learning about filming and digital content editing in a hands-on, self-taught way every single day, all while being surrounded by the stunning beauty of Asian nature.

After returning to the Netherlands, I moved to Amsterdam in 2018, determined to continue pursuing my creative path. I worked on entertaining YouTube content at Talpa Network and on digital campaigns at fashion label JOSH V, among other things.

In 2022, I felt it was time for a change. I stepped into freelance life to create content with more freedom and autonomy, entirely on my own terms. This way, my work became more aligned with my interests and my mission: to create with purpose.
